Troubleshooting Guide

1.Q: The turntable keeps turning too slowly

A: Please repair the record player by removing the bottom panel to access the bottom of the belt drive motor. and please add lubricating oil to the spindle and the spindle hole in the middle of the turntable and insert the sub-platter into the turntable spindle. then turn the sub-platter clockwise and counterclockwise by hand to prevent jamming, and press the sub-platter few times, the issue will be solved completely.

2.Q: The platter spins, but there is no sound or the volume is not loud enough.

A: • Are the function settings and input for connected equipment (amplifier, etc.) selected correctly? Check whether the settings for the connected equipment are correct.

• Is the stylus damaged? Check the stylus and replace it, if necessary.

• Is the stylus placed correctly on the body of the cartridge? Check the cartridge and adjust it, if necessary.

• Are the setting positions for the pre-amplifier selector switch correct? Check that the preamplifier settings are correct, noting the following common problems and their causes:

— If there is no sound, or if the volume is not loud enough, the product is set to the “PHONO” position and connected to the amplifier’s AUX/LINE input. — If the volume is too loud or is distorted, the product is set to the “LINE” position, and the connectable equipment is connected to the PHONO input.

3.Q: The platter does not spin.

A: Please kindly note our turntable is fully manual, and you should move the tonearm to get the turntable to spin.

• Is the AC adapter connected to the outlet? Connect the AC adapter to the outlet.

• Has the belt slipped from the platter? Correctly place the belt on the platter.

• Is the belt placed on the motor pulley? Check that the belt is placed on the motor pulley correctly.

• Has the belt been damaged? Replace it with a new belt.

4.Q: The stylus skips

• Ensure the record surface is clear of dirt and debris. Also check that the record is not warped or deformed.

• Inspect the stylus for built up dirt or debris. Use a stylus cleaning brush to clean if necessary.

• Ensure the turntable is on a sturdy and level surface.

5.Q: Tonearm shaking too much, making records unplayable.

A: It’s recommended to re-adjust the tonearm and make sure it is neutrally balanced before the counterweight tracking force is set up.

6.Q: Does the arm automatically go onto the record by itself to play and stop?

A: The turntable is not automatic, so you should manually put the tonearm onto the record. But the turntable will automatically stop 3 minutes after the record ends, and you have to turn off the power switch and turn on again when you play again.

7. Q: Can't get the tonearm balance, how to do?

A: 1.Make sure the tonearm is balanced and the tracking force has set to factory-recommended 3.5g. If you don't know how, please follow our installation video.

2. The reason for that problem apparently was because one of the screws was loose at the center of the mechanism(up/down mechanism, two screws). So I was tighten them a little bit for get the bearings working properly.

Quality Looks And Sound

Don't let the inexpensive price fool you. The ANGELS HORN HP-H002 turntable, at a budget price, manages to add a bit of class and value beyond what one might expect. When my wife and I moved recently, my turntable was damaged beyond repair so I looked for a replacement. I'm not an audio snob so I wasn't looking to spend a ridiculous amount of money. On the other hand, I wanted good value. Angels Horn seemed to be reading my mind. When I found this brand on Amazon, I was immediately impressed by the looks of the player. It was tasteful, uncluttered, and simple. After reading the excellent reviews, I decided to buy it. After a few days, it arrived. I had to wait a short while to open the box because I was still unpacking boxes from our move and I was also installing a new speaker system to plug into my amplifier. Once done, I opened the box and marveled at the quality and the excellent packing, done with care. (See photos) There is some work to do however. It isn't fully assembled on arrival, so there are some directions to follow. Don't worry though, it doesn't take long to put it together. The contents include the turntable body which is dominated by the beautiful maple wood base that has a glossy finish. Just gorgeous! Also included are the instruction manual, the lid, a turntable mat, the platter, the turntable belt, the counterweight, the anti-skating weight, a 45 RPM adapter, the power supply, RCA cables to connect to your amplifier, and a cartridge alignment protractor (which you only need when you replace the cartridge that has been pre-installed). The manual provides pictures to guide installation of all the parts. Step 1 - Installing the lid which takes maybe 10 seconds. Step 2 - In my unit, the sub-platter was already installed. I just had to remove some packing material around it. Take the loop drive belt and place it around the sub-platter and the motor pulley then place the main platter onto the sub-platter. The main platter is nice and heavy which helps to maintain a consistent speed. Then drop the slip mat onto the platter. Step 3 - Cartridge force adjustment. First install the counterweight. Just twist it onto the rear of the tonearm. (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the purchase of a Digital Turntable Stylus Force Scale if you don't already have one. You can order one from Amazon for less than $15 and it will definitely make your life easier.) The cartridge that came pre-installed is recommended to have a down force of 3.5 grams + or - 0.5 grams. Once you have the tracking force properly adjusted go on to Step 4 - The Anti-Skating adjustment. Have some decent light shining in that area because you need to loop this very fine thread in the 3rd of 4 grooves then feed the thread through the wire support to let the weight freely hang. Step 5 and beyond directs how to connect to your amplifier. On the back of the turntable you have an option switch to set to either PHONO or Line Out. If you have an amplifier with a phono input, connect there. If your amplifier does not have a phono input, you would need to purchase a pre-amplifier so you could connect to a regular audio input. Alternatively, if you set to Line Out, you could connect the turntable to powered (active) speakers. Personally, I had some difficulty with the skating because I wasn't sure exactly where to set the counterweight. Once I had a scale that could tell me when I reached 3.5 grams, everything worked perfectly at that point. I have played a few records already and they sound great using this turntable. No Bluetooth. Just old-fashioned record playing. If money is no object for you, perhaps you can find something better, but how much better? For me, it sounds and looks great, AND I didn't have to pay too much. A win win!

- It looks like it should cost more. Just a beautiful piece of machinery.
- Clear instructions and comes well-packaged.

Cons:
- You have to put it together so, if you're lazy, it may not be for you.
- If you don't already have a stylus force scale, you should get one. Fortunately, they are inexpensive.
- No Bluetooth. Just standard Phone and Line outputs.

-Sound quality is amazing. It really does fill up the room.
-a bit bulky, but it was expected and the description they gave is correct.

I'm really new at this, and I almost broke the cartridge stylus on my first day. The instructions are great for setting up but to actually use them, I had to look up a couple of youtube videos then I was good.

Extremely Satisfied!

Bought this as a birthday gift for my girlfriend. I had no expectations for it, as I’m not really into the vinyl comeback revolution, so I was simply hoping it would play records, nothing more nothing less. That said, it’s an awesome little unit!! Girlfriend LOVES it and I must say, it’s tilted me toward the vinyl revolution myself now! Classy and simply appearance, which is a huge plus as it will be a center piece in the room for her. Love the Bluetooth capability as well to stream music from your phone as well. Solidly built, feels sturdy and tight. Sounds great!! I personally would like a little more volume output, but that’s just me. It’s definitely loud enough for most rooms and situations. I’d highly recommend to anyone who asks!! Thanks Angels Horn.
